I remember when I was in my 20s, sexy Halloween gear was EVERYTHING. One year I dressed as a Playboy Bunny complete with ears, corseted leotard, and thigh high boots. Let me just say I am sooooooo glad they didn't have camera phones then. But even though I am older now, I've never lost my love for Halloween.
All Grown Up...But Still Sexy Baby!
I might be all grown up but I still love a sexy Halloween costume. But I also love taking everyday items and turning them into fun looks. And let's be honest, there is nothing better than being the bad girl on one of the naughtiest nights of the year. So, of course, my dear Divas, I want to share my Halloween Bad Girl Look Books with you. Before I do let me get the legal stuff out of the way that none of these costumes are endorsed whole or in part by Disney, ABC, 21st Century Fox or any of its affiliates.
Alright, now that that's done...let's get wickedly sexy! See how to take three diva-worthy pieces and transform them into the stuff of legends.
1) The Evil Queen
The number one bad girl, of course, is the Evil Queen from the Snow White fairy tale. Despite the fact that she is thrown off the cliff in the end, this chicks whole drive is to be the best looking in the land. Though her methods were twisted, I've got to admire a diva who likes to make sure she's looking good!
I call this look the Elegantly Evil Queen:
What you'll need:
- Purple/Jewel-toned Dress
- Black cape
- Crown (I used the one from my Reclaiming My Crown Blog Post)
- Victorian/Garnet Jewelry
2) The Wicked Witch
After reading Wicked and seeing the stage play, my Elphaba will always have a special place in my heart. I love a misunderstood diva. Plus, girl knows how to work an all-black ensemble, let me tell you!
I call this look The Wickedly Wanted Witch:
What You'll Need:
- A Sexy Sheer Dress
- Witches Hat
- Optional (A friend of mine suggested pair this with a pair of Ruby Slippers to sort of change the narrative to a victorious Elphaba)
The 2014 re-imagining of Maleficent's side of Sleeping Beauty breathed a new life into the once thought of cold-hearted Queen Maleficent. I think so many women saw themselves in the emotionally wounded character that it couldn't help but take off. It was like Tyler Perry wrote a Disney movie. LOVED IT! And like our other two stylishly wicked divas, Maleficent new how to accessorize an outfit boo.
I call this look Magnificent Maleficent:
What You'll Need:
- A Deep V-Cut Jumpsuit
- Maleficent Horns
- Magical Staff
Which Witch to Choose
Well, there you have it Divas, my inspiration looks for a sexy plus size Halloween. So which witch would you choose? I love all these looks and the accessories for them are all pretty affordable at my local Party City or Amazon. But I have to admit, I think Maleficent is the one that's growing on me the most.
What do you think? Which one do you see yourself rocking?
