A Touch of Paris in Historic Gretna
This beautiful cafe will transport you straight to Paris, France - no passport required.
I am an admitted Francophile (although I have never had the pleasure of going). I love all things French and all things Coffee (or Cafe). So when I stumbled upon this surprising little bakery and coffee shop in "Old Gretna," I was overjoyed.
This area is known for locally owned restaurants and even features a farmer's market on the weekends. But I hadn't had a chance to venture to this part of town for some time. And it was simply a wrong turn that brought Amore into my purview.
From the opulent interior to the decadent desserts and gelato, Amore feels like it was directly imported from The Avenue des Champs-Élysées (at least that's what my imagination says). The staff even wears berets! The locals and lawyers from the nearby courthouse venture in and out of this quaint spot with the casualness of visiting a local relative but for me, it was a treat and an oasis of pleasantry on a long day of running errands. I will definitely be back! If you are in the area stop by and look for me there, dreaming of dear "Paree."
